1:4-7 作為人類靈性體驗的實相，神並非一個奧秘。但是，當試圖向物質種類的物理心智闡明屬靈世界的實相時，奧秘便出現了：眾奧秘如此微妙與深奧，以至於只有知曉神的凡人的信仰理解，才能夠實現有限者對無限者識別的哲學奇蹟，如時空物質世界的進化中凡人對永恆之神的識別。
